31 Days to a Better Budget {Introduction}

{Click here to find the topic menu for the entire month along with links to each day.}

If you follow my Facebook page, you know that I decided to participate in "31 Days" with The Nester. This involves blogging on one topic every day through the month of October.

Yes, I do realize that I haven't even blogged 31 times in all of 2012 so far. (Not even close!) And yes, I am more than a little intimidated by this. But it's been said that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit, so if I make it through the month, perhaps I stand a chance of getting back to blogging more regularly.

As you can see, my topic is budgeting. Specifically for me, it will be revamping an existing budget. My husband is currently between jobs, so this is a very timely series for us.

I found a website called Inexpensively that did a 31 Days to a Better Budget series back in 2011. I received permission from the founder to use those steps as a framework as I go through the process of making over our budget. So this will be a kind of virtual journey.

I will start on Monday by presenting Day 1's task. Each subsequent day, I will share my progress on the previous day's step and then introduce the next one. I hope that many of you will participate with me so that we can encourage each other along the way! If you'd like, grab the code for my button below and use it on your own blog. Then you can link up in the comments as we go.

A lot of people get "back on a budget" in January after holiday overspending. Let's take the much wiser approach and get those budgets in order so that the post-holiday debt and remorse can be avoided!
